Senior Devsecops Engineer at Raft

Justin Olivarez has a diverse work experience that spans over a decade. Justin started their career in the US Navy, where they served as a Food Service Senior Specialist, Hospitality Manager, and Operations Manager. During this time, they prepared meals for dignitaries and managed daily operations. After leaving the Navy, Justin worked as a self-employed IT Technician Support/Consultant, providing assistance to clients and maintaining documentation.

In 2017, they joined SandTech Solutions, LLC as a Network Administrator/Technician, where they managed and maintained the company's Office 365 Azure domain and provided support to end-users. Justin later became an AWS Cloud System Engineer/Assistant Lead for Accenture Federal Services, overseeing the AWS Cloud Infrastructure and leading a team of engineers and administrators.

In 2020, Justin joined Technica Corporation as a Sr. System Engineer - CVAH. In this role, they were responsible for the architecture, planning, and configuration of Cyber Hunt Weapon Systems. Justin also managed multiple VMware racks and organized work using Defense Intelligence Information Enterprise (DI2E) Jira.

In 2021, Justin worked at Devo as a Cloud Engineer, where they were responsible for the health and stability of the company's Cloud Infrastructure in AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure. Justin also improved the platform's performance through monitoring and baseline templates creation.

Currently, Justin is working as a DevSecOps Engineer - LevelUp at raft. In this role, they participate in Agile/Scrum teams, implements applications into Kubernetes clusters, and deploys AWS infrastructure environments utilizing zero trust best practices and GitOps CI/CD pipelines.

Throughout their career, Justin has demonstrated their technical expertise and ability to manage complex projects.

Justin Olivarez obtained a High School Diploma from Veterans Memorial High School in the years 2001 to 2005. Later, from 2017 to 2018, they attended San Antonio College and received an A.A.S. degree in Information Assurance & Cybersecurity. Their field of study during this time was Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance.

In terms of additional certifications, Justin obtained the following:

- Certified Kubernetes Administrator from The Linux Foundation in February 2022

- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer from The Linux Foundation in November 2021

- CompTia Security+ from CompTIA in October 2018

- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) from Red Hat in May 2021

- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) from Red Hat in October 2019.
