Gabriela Gonzalez

Gabriela Gonzalez is a Product Owner at Railz. Gabriela has also worked as a Product Manager at Intersect from June 2018 to October 2021. During their time at Intersect, they completed a literature review on the diabetes context in Toronto with a focus on prevention strategies; assessed community needs and analyzed information to make recommendations on the current programs. Gabriela also created social media posts for the diabetes prevention team using Twitter and Facebook to promote screening and prevention methods; drafted a 2018 social media calendar for the remainder of the year.

In addition, Gabriela provided advice to the chronic disease and injury prevention (CDIP) management team in the review and analysis to develop a theory of change and logic model for the diabetes prevention program. Gabriela also reviewed applications and followed-up on interim work-plans of 26 agencies receiving funding from Toronto Public Health that deliver diabetes prevention programs to ensure they were meeting the needs of the community. Furthermore, they assisted with data cleaning and writing a quarterly report of the services and programs under CDIP to analyze programs target goals and assess funding to report back to the Ministry of Health. Lastly, Gabriela attended workshops and service deliveries in the community, teleconferenced meetings to discuss proposals, work-plans, and lead briefings on services attended.

Gabriela Gonzalez has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Honours Health Sciences from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Master's degree in Public Health from Lakehead University. Gabriela is certified by the City of Toronto in Diabetes Peer Leadership Training, the Tri-Council Policy Statement in Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans Course on Research Ethics, Smart Serve Ontario in Smart Serve, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation in BLS for HCP.
