Alejandro Mendoza-Castillo has a range of experience in coordinating community health education and fostering community solidarity. Alejandro worked as the Coordinator of Community Health Education at the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa in 2012. Alejandro also served as the coordinator for the President Binational Health Week 2016 Planning Committee Bay Area Task Force, where they called for collaborative monthly meetings and organized events to reach out to disadvantaged and vulnerable people without medical coverage. Alejandro was the Project Coordinator for the Mpowerement Project in E Contra Costa County at La Clinica de La Raza from August 2012 to June 2013, where they created and managed a core group of eight youth adults to implement the project. Prior to that, they worked as the Manager Project at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation from July 2011 to June 2012, and as the Manager of Latino Community Preparedness at the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter from August 2006 to August 2011.
Alejandro Mendoza-Castillo holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations/Image Management from Tecnológico de Costa Rica, which they obtained from 1985 to 1987. From 2004 to 2008, they pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Berkeley College. Alejandro also has obtained additional certifications in Bilingual Coordinator Community Educator and Events from various institutions such as Non Profits SFAF, UCSF, La Clinica de la Raza, and Health Initiative of the Americas - School of Public Health at UCBerkeley.
