Ernesto Archila

Strategy & Engagement Manager, Climate & Energy at Rainforest Action Network

Ernesto brings a deep background in labor policy, human rights, and corporate campaigning to bear as Strategy and Engagement Manager with RAN’s Finance Campaign. Ernesto served for six years as a political appointee in the U.S. Department of Labor, where his portfolio included Counter Trafficking in Persons policy coordination, guestworker protections, worker rights, human rights in global supply chains, and work-family policy.

After leaving government in 2016, Ernesto worked as an independent consultant for several leading anti-trafficking NGO’s, and served as co-chair of the Steering Committee of the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking (ATEST). Most recently, as a Senior Advisor at Oxfam America, he led private sector engagement efforts focused on the U.S. operations of companies, spearheaded an advocacy initiative for mandatory Human Rights Due Diligence, and managed labor policy advocacy during the early years of the COVID-19 Pandemic. An organizer at heart, Ernesto has served in volunteer or staff roles on several presidential and Congressional campaigns, with a focus on GOTV efforts. He holds a Masters in International Affairs and a B.A. in Philosophy.
