Michael Schmid

Michael Schmid has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Michael currently works as a Frontend Engineer at RaiseNow since February 2020. Prior to that, they were the User-Experience Design Lead at Aduno Group from November 2018 to December 2019.

From 2013 to 2018, Michael worked at AdNovum Informatik AG as a User-Experience Designer, Business Analyst, and Frontend Developer. Here, they built customized software systems for corporate and public clients. Michael collaborated in large teams, contributing to defining user flows, information architecture, and interaction patterns for mobile and web apps. Michael also created prototypes, discussed ideas with various stakeholders, and worked closely with front-end developers during implementation.

Before that, Michael was a Doctoral student at ETH Zurich from March 2011 to August 2013. Their research focused on real-time phase ambiguity resolution using a single GNSS receiver for earthquake detection and classification. In addition to software development, they also taught and tutored students.

Michael also gained practical experience as a Trainee at Institut Géographique National, Basler & Hofmann, Intergraph, and Docslogic. These roles involved surveying, technical support, tool development, and GIS-related tasks.

Early in their career, Michael worked as a Sales Assistant at Inlink and as a Computer Supporter at Kantonsschule Büelrain. As a Computer Supporter, they provided assistance to 800 users, configured Linux servers for mail and printing services, and managed software updates.

Throughout their work experience, Michael has demonstrated their proficiency in user experience design, software development, project management, collaboration, and technical support.

Michael Schmid completed their education history as follows:

- In 2018, they attended the University of Zurich for a brief period, studying Cognitive and Motivational Psychology.

- From 2009 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Geomatic Engineering at ETH Zürich.

- From 2005 to 2008, they completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Geomatic Engineering at ETH Zürich.

- From 2000 to 2004, they attended Kantonsschule Bülrain, where they obtained a Matura degree in Law and Economics.

In addition to their formal education, Michael also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera Course Certificates in April 2016.
