Chao Xu

Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architecture at Rambus

Chao Xu has extensive work experience in the field of engineering and technology. Their most recent role was as a Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architecture at Rambus since May 2022. Prior to that, they served as the VP of Engineering of High Speed Connectivity at INNOSILICON from October 2021 to April 2022.

Chao Xu also held the position of VP of Technology at Eta Compute from February 2016 to October 2021, where they led the development of asynchronous low power MCUs and an analog to digital converter.

Before joining Eta Compute, Chao Xu worked at Inphi Corporation from July 2010 to February 2016 as the Sr. Director of Communication System Engineering, overseeing the development of communication products. Chao also served as the Sr. Director of Computing and Storage Platform Engineering from July 2007 to July 2010 at Inphi Corporation.

Prior to their tenure at Inphi Corporation, Chao Xu worked as a Staff Design Engineer at Integrated Device Technology from June 2003 to July 2007, managing analog designers and leading the development of high-speed serial interface products. Chao also served as a Sr. Design Engineer at Accelerant Network, Inc. from June 2002 to July 2003, and as a Mixed-Signal Design Engineer at PMC-Sierra from May 2000 to June 2002.

Chao Xu completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China from 1989 to 1994. They then pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university and successfully completed it from 1994 to 1997. Later, Chao Xu joined the University of Pennsylvania and obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from 1998 to 2002.
