Shantel Francis has over 17 years of experience in learning and development roles. Shantel started their career in 2003 as a Learning & Development Specialist at Discovery Holdings, where they were responsible for conducting needs analyses, developing training content, and facilitating learning interventions. In 2006, they joined Hyundai Automotive South Africa as a Training Manager, where they identified training needs, developed training programs, and implemented effective training methods. In 2010, they moved to Rand Merchant Bank as an Operations & Training Manager, where they created learning plans, developed induction programs, and crafted career paths for the Credit team. In 2013, they became the Learning Demand and Development Lead at Rand Merchant Bank, managing e-learning initiatives and coordinating development projects. Most recently, they served as the Head of Learning and Development at Rand Merchant Bank, where they developed the bank's learning strategy and designed leadership and technical programs aligned with business objectives. Shantel is experienced in designing, implementing, and managing learning and development programs that support organizational needs and goals.
Shantel Francis completed their Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Human Resources Management and Services from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2006-2011. Shantel later pursued an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Human Resources Management and Services from the same university from 2013 to 2016. Shantel then attended the Questrom School of Business, Boston University from 2021 to 2023, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, they completed their Matriculation from Heather Secondary in 1996-2000.
