Ben Howard

VP, Publishing Operations at Ranker

Ben Howard has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Ben began their career as a Producer at Mind's Eye Ltd in 1999. From 2001 to 2003, they worked as a Creative Video Producer at AVT Ltd, where they developed and grew a video streaming business and produced high-end corporate promotional videos.

In 2003, Ben joined World Television as a News Producer, leading broadcast news production and managing the official live video of the World Economic Forum in Davos for three years.

In 2006, Ben joined CBS Interactive as the Head of Video, where they built a video production capability and a team of 10. Ben also served as the Publishing Director for GameSpot UK and TV.com, focusing on creating engaging content and user experiences. Ben later became Vice President of Content & Programming and General Manager of CBSi Games, overseeing revenue, product, and content growth for GameSpot, GameFAQs, Giant Bomb, and Comic Vine.

In 2019, Ben joined ViacomCBS as the Senior Vice President of Content, responsible for global content programming strategy and operations for GameSpot.com. Ben led editorial strategy, industry relationships, and commercial content creation.

In 2020, the CBS Interactive brands were acquired by Red Ventures, and Ben was part of the Senior Leadership M&A team, responsible for the sale, purchase, and completion of the CNET Media Group sale. Ben played a key role in pitching, planning, and closing the gaming brands.

Most recently, Ben has been working at Fandom as the SVP of Games & Entertainment. And starting from 2023, they joined Ranker as the VP of Publishing Operations.

Ben Howard attended Forest School in Winnersh from 1988 to 1994. Ben did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study during this time. From 1994 to 1997, they attended Royal Holloway, University of London, where they earned a 2:1 degree in Media Arts.
