We are looking for an Assembly and Test Technician to work within our Operations team and support our product commercialization efforts. 

Responsibilities

  • Assembly and test support of production build, this will include but not limited to:
    • Perform complex assembly of photonic components.
    • Support and manage die and wire bonding equipment.
    • Perform optical and electrical testing at wafer and die level.
    • Support and manage test equipment.
  • Monitor the functioning of all production equipment and assist in maintenance and corrective actions. Conduct preventive maintenance procedures to eliminate breakdowns.
  • Manage shop floor consumables inventory.
  • Support other general technician activities as and when required.
  • Work different hours/shift if required.

Skills and experience

  • Technologist or Technician diploma
  • 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with the following are assets:
    • Die attach
    • Wire bonding
    • Manual assembly of micro-optics
    • Hand soldering of fine pitch devices
    • Laser die burn-in and test
    • Wafer test and handling
