Gil Shamgar

Gil Shamgar has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Gil most recently worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Rapid7 starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Lili from May 2021 to January 2023. Before Lili, Gil worked at Culture Trip as a Tech Lead/Senior Software Engineer from September 2019 to May 2021. Gil also has extensive experience in the cybersecurity field, having worked as a Software Engineer at Cybereason from August 2016 to May 2019, where they developed and maintained large-scale server-side systems in the cloud. Prior to that, they worked at Taptica as a Software Engineer from October 2013 to July 2016, where they played a role in developing and maintaining server-side systems in the cloud and collaborating with UI developers and DevOps engineers. Gil began their career in the IDF, where they held various positions related to information security and network management. Gil served as the Head of Information Security branch in the IT unit ‘Mamram’ from October 2010 to September 2011, and as the Head of Computers Security team in the Information Security branch of the Northern Command from April 2009 to October 2010. Gil also worked as a Soldier at the Computers Security Branch in the IDF HQ from April 2007 to September 2008, where they managed and monitored a network of 100,000 users and implemented information security systems. Overall, Gil's experience ranges from leadership positions to technical roles, with a strong focus on software development and cybersecurity.

Gil Shamgar earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from The Academic College of Tel-Aviv, Yaffo. Gil attended this institution from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, from 2002 to 2006, they attended The High School Named After David Kalay in Givata'im, where they studied Computers, Economy, and Business Management.
