Karen Shahbazian

Karen Shahbazian has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and project management. Karen joined Rapid7 in 2023 as a Lead Security Expert. Prior to that, Karen served as the Head of Research and Cyber Threat Intelligence at the Israel National Cyber Directorate from 2018 to 2023. Karen also worked at the First International Bank of Israel as the Cyber Defense and Information Security Audits Manager from 2014 to 2018. Karen held the role of Project Manager and Senior Security Consultant at SECOZ from 2010 to 2014. Karen briefly worked as a Senior Consultant and Team Leader at Deloitte & Touche in 2010. Before that, Karen gained experience in cybersecurity as a Senior Security Consultant and CISO at Prevision in 2009. Karen served as the CISO at Electra from 2003 to 2008 and worked as a Senior Project Manager at Matrix from 2001 to 2003. Karen began their career as a Network and Security Administrator at A.P.C in 1999.

Karen Shahbazian has a diverse education history in the field of computer science. Karen obtained a Bachelor of Computers and Programming from Yerevani Karavarman ev Informacion Tecnologianeri Hamalsaran in 1991, specializing in Computer Programming. Karen further pursued their education, earning an Associate's degree in Mathematics from 122 in 1988. In 1993, they attended The College of Management Academic Studies, where they received an Associate's degree in Programming with a focus on C, C++, Pascal, Clipper, Magic, and Access.
