Sam Huckins

Program Manager at Rapid7

Sam Huckins has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Sam started their career as an IT Assistant at St. John's College from October 2002 to May 2006. In 2005, they worked at OpenPath Products, where they began as a Mobile Application QA and later transitioned into an IT role. At OpenPath Products, Sam was responsible for game testing, server administration, and capacity planning.

From 2007 to 2012, they worked at Zenoss, Inc. as a Systems Administrator and later as a Client Services BI Engineer. Sam administered Linux and Windows servers, provided helpdesk support, and programmed internal applications. As a Client Services BI Engineer, they created Jasper reports and provided business intelligence solutions using Zenoss Analytics.

Since 2012, Sam has been working at Rapid7. Sam started as a Senior Software Engineer, focusing on improving the reporting and data layers of the Metasploit product. Sam later served as the Metasploit Development Team Lead, Manager of Engineering for Metasploit Application, and currently holds the role of Program Manager. In these positions, they have been involved in managing teams, planning development efforts, and ensuring efficient collaboration across different groups within Rapid7.

Sam Huckins attended East Fairmont High School from 1998 to 2002. After completing high school, Sam went on to study at St. John's College from 2002 to 2006. At St. John's College, Sam obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, with a focus on Philosophy, History of Science and Mathematics, Classics, and Comparative Literature.
