Jodesz Gavilan

Jodesz Gavilan serves as the Lead Researcher for Editorial at Rappler, a position held since April 2014, and also hosts the weekly podcast Newsbreak: Beyond the Stories, which addresses critical issues in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. With extensive experience in investigative journalism, Jodesz pursues in-depth analyses focused on human rights, foreign relations, and government policies, while documenting cases related to the anti-illegal drugs campaign and human rights violations. Additionally, Jodesz has contributed to the #HungerProject, focusing on hunger and poverty in the Philippines, and has worked as a contributor and intern at Rappler, covering education and significant political events. Jodesz holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of the Philippines and previously studied Philippine Arts at University of the Philippines Manila.
