Optical Design Engineer at Rayner

Jesús P. has extensive work experience in the optical industry. Jesús started their career at Ramón Óptica Pamplona as an Optometrist-Optician, where they performed refraction for patients, adapted ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses, and provided customer service. Jesús then worked at Greenlight Solutions, S.L. as an Apprentice in optical design, where they gained practical experience in the field.

Afterwards, Jesús joined AJL OPHTHALMIC S.A as a Research & Development Technician, responsible for designing, developing, and quality controlling a toric intraocular lens. Jesús also worked on optical design of customized intraocular lenses and created technical documentation following the Medical Device Regulation. In addition, they served as a Keratoconus Specialist during their time at AJL OPHTHALMIC S.A.

Following their experience at AJL OPHTHALMIC S.A, Jesús worked at Multiópticas as an Optician-Optometrist and Store Manager. In this role, they ensured the provision of ideal personal and healthcare services while reporting directly to the Area Manager.

Currently, Jesús is pursuing a position as an Optical Design Engineer at Rayner.

Jesús P. completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Optics and Optometry from the Universidad de Zaragoza from 2012 to 2016. Jesús then pursued a Master of Science degree in Optical and Image Technologies from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2016 to 2017. Following that, they enrolled at the Universidad de Zaragoza again and completed an Industrial PhD program from 2017 to 2021. Their research during this program focused on the design, manufacturing, and quality control of toric intraocular lenses. In September 2021, Jesús P. obtained a Certificate in Advanced English (C1) from Cambridge Assessment English.
