Nandu Nandakumar has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Nandu started their career as an Assistant Professor at Fuqua School of Business in 1991. Nandu then worked as the VP of Strategy and IT at Chemoil Corporation from 1993 to 1995. In 1994, they became the Chief Operating Officer at California Software for two years.

Nandu Nandakumar later joined Carnegie Technologies as the VP of the Data Warehousing Practice in 1997. Nandu founded Core Concept in 1998 and served as the CEO until 2006. From 1997 to 1998, they worked as the Founder and Chief Technology Officer at Virima Technologies, Inc.

In 2004, Nandu Nandakumar founded and became the Principal of Net Margins, Inc. The company focused on pharma pricing and contracting strategies. It was eventually acquired by Adjility Health in 2009.

Their most recent role is the CTO at Razorthink, starting in 2008. Razorthink specializes in Artificial Intelligence Data Science for the Enterprise, and Nandakumar played a crucial role in developing the company's pioneering AI Data Scientist, Big Brain. By generating Expert Deep Learning AIs, Razorthink Big Brain significantly improved predictive customer insight accuracy.

Nandu Nandakumar completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from 1980 to 1985. Nandu then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Information Systems and Marketing at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, from 1985 to 1987. Following that, they attended Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business, where they obtained a PhD in Operations Management, completing their studies from 1987 to 1990.
