Michelle Brown

Michelle Brown is the current Global Controller at READY Education. Prior to this, they were the Assistant Controller at QuadraMed Corporation from May 2005 to August 2010. Brown was hired by QuadraMed Corporation to resolve several SOX compliance issues that resulted in reported significant deficiencies and material weaknesses. Michelle redesigned processes and procedures creating a foundation based on detailed documentation, full balance sheet reconciliation during month end close, upgraded staff skill sets, and instituted accountability. As a result, the annual audit for fiscal year 2005 resulted in no audit adjustments, unresolved or newly reported SOX compliance issues. Brown was also responsible for internal and external SEC reporting including the preparation of Form’s 10-Q and10-K, press releases, and SEC comment letter responses. Under their leadership, the internal and external reporting timelines were reduced by 15 days and they successfully completed the SEC filings within 30 days of month end and 60 days of year end with a lean staff and several manually intensive processes. In addition, they led the accounting system conversion to PeopleSoft version 9.0 from a data perspective with minimal disruption to operating activities and reporting deadlines. At QuadraMed Corporation, they also managed accounting operations, quarterly and annual audit functions, and assisted with the annual corporate budget preparation. In 2008, the Company entered into an asset purchase agreement for the sale of a foreign subsidiary operating in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
