Brian Paik

Experience Design | Project Re:car at Re:Build Manufacturing

Brian Paik has extensive experience in the automotive industry, with a focus on design and strategy. Brian currently works at Re:Build Manufacturing, where they are involved in experience design for the Re:Car project. Prior to this, Brian worked as an Assistant Professor at ArtCenter College of Design, where they taught concept development, vehicle architecture, and design. Brian also played a role in launching an online platform and mentoring students. At VMLY&R, Brian served as an Associate Director in Strategy & Insights, where they provided consumer insights and developed brand strategies. Brian also spent several years at Ford Motor Company, where they worked as a Sr. Strategic Designer and Sr. Designer. Brian played a key role in shaping Ford's EV brand strategy and was involved in designing vehicles such as the Bronco Sport, Bronco, and Mach-E. Before joining Ford, Brian worked as a Designer at Mazda North American Operations, where they contributed to the design of the Mazda RX Vision Concept and Mazda CX-9. Brian also helped define Mazda's Kodo design aesthetic and provided insights on the North American consumer market. Prior to this, Brian worked as a Sr. Designer at Mattel, Inc., where they created and launched products for Hot Wheels, Disney Pixar, and Dreamworks studios. Additionally, they have experience as a Visualization Designer at Dassault Systèmes 3DEXCITE, Visualization Designer at Volkswagen Design Center California, and Design Intern at Calty Design Research, Inc. Brian's early career also includes a role as a Regional Case Manager at American Honda Motor Company, Inc., where they focused on customer service and ensuring a positive ownership experience.

Brian Paik attended ArtCenter College of Design from 2007 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Transportation Design. Prior to that, they studied at UCLA from 2001 to 2004, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
