Virgil Borcea has worked in the tech industry since 2010. In 2010, they worked as a Java Developer at J4biz, where they delivered a seamless tracking platform by integrating a proxy service with various internal tools and Jira, gathering the data in a pipeline and exposing it in the platform. Virgil also decreased 10x the time needed to track, validate and report people task assigment and progress by delivering a module that integrates with Atlasian Jira, exports and agregates data.

In 2011, they worked as a Java Developer at Adobe, where they improved integration rate 5X for new customers by delivering a platform that manages all configuration files via UI and offers the possibility to apply them in real time. Virgil was also proud of integrating Turner, CablelABS and Comcast by offering suport to them to connect with the product API and expose their products in the platform.

From 2012 to 2016, they worked at eSolutions in various roles, including Senior Java Developer, Software Engineer, and Senior Java Architect. For the client, a world's biggest salt aquarium provider, they increased platform capacity to over 200k active devices and 40k users by employing Google Cloud Services, Microservices Architecture, MQTT messaging and hardcore database tuning. Virgil also achieved a service uptime of 99. For the client, a Romanian outsourcing company, they delivered a platform that holds 10k devices which are receiving real time data by using Microservices Architecture and Websocket communication and are integrated with Google Calendar to receive availability and booking a room. For the client, one of the biggest hypermarket chains in the world, they achieved 100% secure payment processes by closely following and implementing the highest security standards by following Computop and PayU guidelines, adding HMAC verification for payments and after a couple PenTests no security holes were discovered.

Since 2016, they have been working at eSolutions Academy as a Cyber Security Trainer, where they deliver the course for 70 students from 8 companies by preparing a curricula that covers the most frequent techniques needed to secure a web application. Virgil has also boosted the security awareness lever to 100% by discussing usage scenarios for active projects that trainees were working on, identified security issues and offered highly accurate cunsultancy on how to fix them.

Since 2022, they have been working as a Senior Java Consultant at rebuy recommerce, where they have doubled the storing speed by implementing a storing algorithm that offered the storage users in real time the closes and emptiest rack to store all wagon items. Virgil has also increased 4 times the inbound speed and decreased to 50% the error rate by implementing an application that suggested the users the best container to store articles. Virgil's skills include PeopleSkill, Java, Kotlin, Android, React, ArgoCD, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Virgil Borcea obtained a Master's Degree in CyberSecurity from the Academia de Studii Economice din București between 2010 and 2012. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Titu Maiorescu University between 2006 and 2010. Virgil also holds several certifications, including Enterprise Architecture Foundations and Software Architecture: Domain-Driven Design from LinkedIn obtained in May 2021, Advanced Software Construction in Java from Massachusetts Institute of Technology obtained in May 2017, Software Construction in Java from Massachusetts Institute of Technology obtained in December 2016, Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer from Oracle obtained in March 2015, and Oracle Certified Associate from Oracle obtained in March 2014.
