Kevin Gilbert

Kevin Gilbert has a diverse work experience in the field of data science. Kevin is currently the Principal Data Scientist at Rec Room, where they lead the Discovery team and focuses on building machine learning models to improve the recommendation of user-created rooms. Prior to this, Kevin worked as the Data Science Lead for Instacart's Ultrafast Delivery service, where they optimized inventory selection and created a simulation framework to reduce fulfillment times.

Kevin also has experience at Facebook, where they served as a Data Science Manager and tech lead for the FB News team. Kevin managed a team of 5 Data Scientists and worked on projects related to personalized news recommendation algorithms and predicting future engagement volume. Before Facebook, Kevin was a Senior Data Scientist at Uber, where they led a team and developed an internal tool to measure GPS accuracy of driver devices.

At the start of their career, Kevin worked as a Senior Actuarial Analyst at Towers Watson.

Kevin Gilbert obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics and Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Kevin studied at the university from 2007 to 2012.
