Karen Markey - McIwm

Karen Markey has over 30 years of work experience in various roles related to waste management and environmental services. Karen is currently the Head of Managed Accounts at Reconomy since December 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Operations Director at MITIE WASTE & ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES LIMITED from December 2018 to December 2023. Before that, they had a long tenure at Mitie Waste & Environmental Services, where they served as a Project Director from October 2014 to December 2018 and as a Project Manager from June 2012 to October 2014. Earlier in their career, Karen worked as a Business Manager at Cranford Environmental, a Sales Manager at TRADEBE, a Technical Sales Executive at United Utilities and Park Environmental Services Limited, and a Sales Co-ordinator at Leigh Environmental Limited. Karen possesses qualifications such as MCIWM, NEBOSH, and AIEMA.

Karen Markey began their education at Eckington Comprehensive School from 1983 to 1989, where they studied a range of subjects including Business Studies, Economics, Geography, Maths, English, French, Music, and IT. Karen then pursued further education at Richmond College from 1989 to 1991, obtaining a BTEC National degree in Business Studies.
