Tal Zaken

Tal Zaken is a Software Engineer II at Pearl Health since April 2022 and a participant at Recurse Center since November 2021, where notable projects include the development of tMinusMbta, a web application for tracking MBTA transit times using Django. Prior to this, Tal served as a Senior Project and Data Specialist at the NYC Department of Sanitation from October 2015 to December 2021, where responsibilities included program design and management of the SmartCompost initiative, as well as the implementation of a geographic clustering algorithm for the GetFoodNYC program. Additionally, Tal has held positions such as Partnerships and Programs Manager and Organics Recovery Coordinator, demonstrating a strong background in project management and data analysis. Tal’s educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English Language and Literature from Brandeis University and ongoing post-baccalaureate studies in Health Sciences and Human Nutrition at Hunter College.
