Ismael Otero has worked in a variety of roles in the software engineering industry since 2006. Ismael began their career at AT&T as a Customer Service Representative in 2006. In 2013, they held internships at Precision Infinity as a Web Developer Intern, and at FARO Technologies as a Software Q/A Intern. In 2014, they were a Systems Intern at Lockheed Martin/UCF College Work Experience Program. In 2015, they were a Software Engineer/Agile Scrum Master at Boeing. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Allscripts, where they designed and developed Avenel, Allscripts' new Electronic Health Record system for the iPad using Swift, developed a REST web service using .Net Core 2.0, implemented a 3rd party voice dictation library and a backend service deployed to Microsoft Azure Service Fabric, provided architectural design of 3rd party voice dictation software, stabilized the app by avoiding 0x8badf00d errors, fixed threading errors with socket connections for live updates, and mentored junior developers. Currently, they are a Sr. Software Engineer at Recursive Labs, where they are responsible for full stack development utilizing Swift 5 and Java to maintain mobile co-browsing SDK's for iOS and Android, and utilizing Node.js with Twilio APIs for audio, video, and SMS communications.
Ismael Otero obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Florida between 2012 and 2014.
