Andrew Hsu began their career in 2001 as a Software Engineer at HP, where they ported a Macintosh application to Windows and developed CORBA applications. In 2004, they joined SugarCRM as a Staff Software Engineer, where they worked closely with the Product Manager to design and develop the core modules and improved the popup component of the application. In 2006, they joined Yahoo as a Principal Software Dev Engineer, where they migrated a 12 TB production private docker registry v1 to docker registry v2 and contributed pull requests to the docker distribution project. Andrew also added IPv6 capabilities to Apache Traffic Server and prepared Yahoo Traffic Server for open source. In 2016, they joined Docker, Inc as a Release Engineer and Engineering Manager, where they were responsible for the open source docker-ce engine and the commercial docker-ee engine bi-annual new feature releases, as well as the monthly patch releases of the stable versions. In 2020, they joined Lightstep as an Engineering Manager for the open source and client library team, where the team developed code in public GitHub repositories primarily using Go, Java, Python, and JavaScript. Finally, in 2021, they joined Redpanda Data as a Software Engineer on the Developer Productivity Team, where they were responsible for building tools for automation, instrumenting CI/CD pipelines, deploying cloud services to AWS and GCP, creating GitHub workflows, and developing processes for getting code into production.
Andrew Hsu obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst between 1997 and 2001. In 2013, they obtained their Red Hat Certified Engineer certification from Red Hat. In 2020, they obtained their Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences certification from LinkedIn.
