Mark Davies has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Mark started their career as a Duty Editor at CNN and then moved on to BBC News as a Senior Broadcast Journalist. Mark then transitioned into politics and held several positions as a Special Adviser to various government officials, including the Leader of the House of Lords, the Foreign Secretary, and the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Justice. Mark later joined Rethink, a charity focused on mental health, where they served as the Director of Communications, Campaigns, Research and Information. Mark also worked as the Group Communications and Corporate Affairs Director for Post Office Ltd and as the Communications Director for the World Wide Web Foundation. Currently, they are the Head of Communications and Campaigns at the Refugee Council.

Mark Davies attended Egglescliffe Comprehensive from 1978 to 1985. In 1986, they enrolled at Liverpool John Moores University and graduated in 1990 with a BA (Hons) degree in Psychology and Sociology.
