Refugio I. Rochin has extensive experience in academia and research, primarily within the University of California system from 1971 to the present. As Director Emeritus of Research & Evaluation at UC Santa Cruz, Refugio developed research capacity for educational initiatives funded by federal grants. Holding emeritus professor titles in Agricultural Economics and Chicano Studies, Refugio has contributed significantly to community and international agricultural development, US demographics, and immigration studies. Refugio has also served as an online instructor, curriculum developer, and executive director for various educational partnerships and initiatives focused on financial literacy and STEM advancement for underrepresented groups. With advanced degrees from multiple institutions, Refugio's academic and professional endeavors reflect a strong commitment to education, research, and community engagement.
