Samuel Barrett

Samuel Barrett has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Their most recent position is as a Machine Learning Team Lead and Senior Data Scientist at Regrow Ag, where they contribute to transforming farming and food systems through science and technology. Prior to this, they worked as a Remote Sensing (Data) Scientist for Agricultural Applications at the same company. Samuel also worked as a Parttime Lecturer at Universität Innsbruck, where they shared their knowledge and expertise with students. Samuel gained significant experience as an Earth Observation & Geospatial Data Scientist at GeoVille Information Systems and Data Processing GmbH, where they also worked as a Freelancer. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Sydney and Royal Holloway, University of London, and as a Technical Assistant at Centrica Energy. Samuel's work experience showcases their passion for data science, research, and technology.

Samuel Barrett has a strong education background in the field of geology and earth science. Samuel obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Geology/Earth Science, General from Leopold-Franzens Universität Innsbruck, where they studied from 2012 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Master in Science (MSci) degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences from Royal Holloway, University of London, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. As part of their MSci program, Samuel spent a study abroad year at the University of Sydney in 2009 to 2010, focusing on the same field of study.

In addition to their formal education, Samuel Barrett has also obtained a certification in SFSCPx: Food Security and Sustainability - Crop Production from edX in January 2020.
