Jeff Myers

Senior Director, Government Contracts at REI Systems

As a Senior Director of Government Contracts at REI Systems, Jeff Myers leads Advisory Services and Analytics and also oversees research activities. Jeff is often the driving force in developing REI Systems’ offerings – from thought leadership to responding to client needs. Since joining REI Systems in 2010, Jeff has supported clients in the public management, health, and scientific research and innovation industries. He founded, and continues to lead, REI Systems’ partnerships with Johns Hopkins University (focused on Government Analytics) and George Washington University (focused on Grants Management). Both inside and outside REI Systems, Jeff believes in a collaborative approach to getting things done – team members and consulting clients will more likely take advice and action if they have helped develop it.

Jeff has over 25 years of experience working to improve public agency performance as a consultant to federal, state, and local governments in addition to selected non-profit and international organizations. His functional areas of focus have been strategic planning, performance measurement, process improvement, and change management. His contributions to knowledge in the field include “Successfully Achieving Ambitious Goals in Government” (co-authored with Harvard Professor Steve Kelman and published in the American Review of Public Administration), as well as articles on data transparency, grants management, and agile acquisition.

Jeff holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of California Berkeley. Prior to joining REI Systems, he advised federal agencies on strategy and performance for 12 years as a consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton and advised state and local governments on strategy and performance for eight years as part of KPMG Consulting.

Outside the office, Jeff enjoys badminton, bicycling, travel, and reading biographies. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Lin, and their son, while their adventurous daughter heads to college in Shanghai, China.
