Mika Mutru has extensive experience in the field of electrical standards and product development. From 1994 to 1999, Mika worked as a Group Manager at SESKO ry, where they served as a technical secretary for national electrotechnical standardization committees. Mika also held the role of Quality Manager at SESKO. Prior to this, from 1990 to 1993, Mika worked as a Standardization Engineer at the Electrical Inspectorate, where they served as a standards engineer and technical secretary for various national electrotechnical standardization committees. Since 1999, Mika has been with Reka Cables, initially as an R&D Product Designer and later as the R&D Manager, Power cables - Head of Design Department. In this role, they were responsible for product development of power cables from 1 kV up to 170 kV and led the product design department at Reka Cables. In 2014, Mika took on the position of R&D Director, where they were responsible for the product management process and continued overseeing the product design department. Throughout their career, Mika actively participated in electrotechnical standardization for electric cables at national, European, and international levels.
Mika Mutru completed a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power generation and transmission from the B.Sc. El.Eng. Technical Institute in the City of Kuopio, Finland, between 1986 and 1990. Later, between 2009 and 2011, they obtained a Specialists Qualification on Product Development from the Foundation for Occupational Advancement AEL in Helsinki, Finland.
