Senaka Balasuriya

Senaka Balasuriya has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. From 2022, they have been working as the Director of Product Management at Rekor. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Technology Officer (Volunteer) at Helpful in 2021. In 2017, Senaka worked as a Director at SolidBase and was responsible for product management at Atrius from 2021 to 2022. Senaka also held positions in Engineering Management and Architecture at Badger Technologies from 2017 to 2021 and served as a Senior Product Manager at Syniverse from 2015 to 2017. Senaka has a long history with Motorola (later Google), where they held various roles, including Senior Manager of Advanced Technology & Innovation, Lead Technology Strategist, and Software Engineer. In these positions, they contributed to the development of next-generation mobile wireless standards, conducted patent infringement analysis, managed patent portfolios, and played a key role in fostering innovation within the organization. Senaka also developed platforms for mobile internet services and evaluated companies for acquisition and partnerships. Before joining Motorola, Senaka worked as a Principal of Strategy and Product Innovation at Constratus (Verizon Wireless) from 2005 to 2015.

Senaka Balasuriya holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Prior to that, Senaka completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University at Buffalo Graduate School. Senaka's undergraduate education was at the State University of New York, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering.
