Daniel Himmelstein

Head of Data Integration at Related Sciences

Daniel Himmelstein is the head of data integration at Related Sciences. Daniel was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, a graduate student at the University of California, San Francisco, and a researcher at Lewis-Sigler Institute, Princeton University and Dartmouth Medical School.

Daniel Himmelstein’s research focuses on the development of computational methods for the analysis of biological data. Daniel has developed a method for heterogeneous network relationship prediction and has integrated publically available data sources to create heterogeneous networks. Daniel has also identified novel therapeutic uses for existing drugs and has prioritized disease-associated genes.

Daniel Himmelstein is currently a PhD candidate in biology and medical informatics at UCSF. Daniel has a background in biometry and statistics, with a focus on statistical genomics, from Cornell University. Daniel also has a high school diploma from Hanover High School.
