Prior to this, they held the role of Director of Software Development at Infor from June 2016 to May 2019, where they contributed to the design and implementation of in-platform support for mathematical programming, optimization, machine learning, probabilistic programming, and stochastic modeling techniques in a database platform. Emir also worked as a Computer Scientist at LogicBlox Inc for over 12 years, from August 2007 to May 2019. Additionally, they have served as a Postdoc at Rice University from September 2004 to September 2007, where they conducted research in meta-programming, type theory, compilers, and program generation. Emir began their career as a Grad Student at Oregon Graduate Institute from 1997 to 2004 and worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Evergreen State College from October 1994 to October 1997.
