Jake Newsum

Jake Newsum is a highly experienced robotics design engineer currently serving as a Staff Robotics Design Engineer at Relativity Space since May 2022, where contributions include leading the development of in-house Path Planning Software for the Terran R product. Prior to this role, Jake held multiple positions at Branch Technology, including Head of Digital Fabrication and Automation and Senior Robotics Design Engineer, from January 2018 to May 2022. Additional experience encompasses roles such as Robotic Lab Coordinator at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, and VIZ Lab Technician at the University of Arkansas. Jake holds a Master of Science degree in Digital Technologies from the University of Michigan, a Private Pilot certification from Aces High Aviation, and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas.
