Spiros Michalakis

Spiros Michalakis is a Professor-in-Residence at Relay Ventures. Spiros advises Relay on academic outreach strategy. Spiros is a Staff Researcher and the Manager of Outreach at the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter (IQM) at Caltech, where he does research on quantum many-body physics and topological quantum order and curates the IQM blog, Quantum Frontiers.

Spiros holds a BS in Mathematics with Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Davis. Spiros is a member of The Science and Entertainment Exchange where he advises film and TV producers on integrating accurate science in scripts.
