Jos van der Westhuizen

Jos van der Westhuizen has a diverse work experience, starting in 2011 as a Software Development Intern at VASTech. Jos then went on to found and direct Off The Grid, where they provided innovative environmentally friendly energy solutions. In 2016, they worked as a Machine Learning Developer at Saato Automation Ltd, a startup dedicated to providing companies with a user-friendly machine learning platform. Later that year, they served as a Lead Software Engineer at Cambridge Legal Risk Analytics (CLARA). In 2017, they joined Cambridge Bio-Augmentation Systems as a Machine Learning Researcher. From 2016 to 2017, they also worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Alchera Technologies. In 2018, they co-founded KRISTALIC and served as the CEO until 2020. Currently, they are the Co-Founder and CEO of REMIO.

Jos van der Westhuizen has a strong educational background in the fields of Machine Learning, Biomedical Engineering, and Mechatronic Engineering. Jos obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree with a specialization in Machine Learning from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering at Stellenbosch University in 2015. Jos completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronic Engineering from the same institution from 2011 to 2014. Additionally, Jos also holds a certification in Bachelors Mechatronic Engineering (Cum Laude), although the institution and the specific date of obtaining the certification are not provided.
