Bernie Durfee

Bernie Durfee has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Bernie began their career as a Senior Technical Consultant at Curam Software in 2006. From there, they worked as an Enterprise Architect at SUNY Delhi, where they developed and implemented a strategic plan for technical service improvement. Durfee then joined General Electric as a Senior Team Leader, leading various initiatives within the organization. Bernie later transitioned to GE Global Research, where they held roles such as Senior Cloud Services Leader and Developer Services Product Leader. Durfee then joined GE Power as the Cloud Architecture Leader and later as the Chief Software Engineer. Bernie continued their career at GE Digital as the Senior Director of Software Architecture, leading the Software Engineering Competency Center. Durfee also held roles at Lambda School, where they managed the Labs program and the Experiential Learning program as Head of Engineering and Lead Engineering Manager. Bernie further worked at IFTTT as the Head of Engineering, leading the engineering organization managing a global integrations platform. Currently, Durfee is serving as the Senior Director of Engineering at Renaissance Learning, leading the eduCLIMBER Engineering team.

Bernie Durfee received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, from 1996 to 2000. They also possess various certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect at both Professional and Associate levels from Amazon Web Services, TOGAF 9 from the Open Group, Archimate 2 Certified from OpenGroup, ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from ITIL Foundation, and Sun Certified Enterprise Architect from Sun Microsystems.
