Ethan Palay has a diverse work experience spanning various fields. Ethan started their career as a Research Assistant at The Ohio State University from October 2009 to July 2013. During this time, they conducted research in an undisclosed field. Afterward, from August 2013 to May 2014, Ethan worked as an Adjunct Mathematics Instructor at Red Rocks Community College. Following this role, they joined the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as a Research Assistant in January 2014, where they specialized in characterizing semiconductors for use in clean hydrogen production. Ethan also tested surface passivation treatments for electrode protection from corrosion. Ethan then continued their research work at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory from April 2015 to August 2016.
In 2018, Ethan embarked on a new endeavor by joining OUR&D as a Board Member. Their role involved connecting people, businesses, and scientists to address climate change by funding scientists and their innovative ideas. Additionally, in 2018, Ethan joined RES, where they started as an Asset Manager and later transitioned to the position of Technical Manager in April 2021, a role they currently hold.
Ethan Palay obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics and Astronomy from The Ohio State University, where they attended from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Solon High School from 2005 to 2009. From 2014 to 2016, Ethan pursued a Master's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. Currently, they are enrolled at Cornell University and is expected to complete an Innovation Strategy Certificate in 2022.
