John Prendergast's work experience begins with their role as an Associate at McKinsey & Company from 2008 to 2010, where they worked as a management consultant on strategy and organization projects for various clients in sectors such as natural resources, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and financial services.

From 2010 to 2012, John served as the Strategy & Planning Manager at Novacem, a UK start-up focused on developing carbon-negative cement. In this role, they worked closely with the CEO on overall company strategy and planning, as well as project management and finance. John successfully led R&D grant bids and managed multi-stakeholder R&D projects.

Moving on to RES, John initially held the position of Development Project Manager from 2012 to 2014, where they worked on assessing new opportunities and managing market entry projects within the New Technologies team. Notably, they project-managed a 7.3MW solar PV project from planning consent to operations, which was RES' first UK solar PV project.

From 2014 to 2016, John served as the Energy Storage Manager at RES, and then took on the role of Head of Energy Storage Business Development from 2016 to 2017. In this capacity, they were responsible for UK energy storage business development, leading initiatives such as developing and executing a market entry strategy and originating over 80 MW of energy storage contracts. John also led project teams, developed business cases, secured board decisions, and identified high-quality project sites.

John then transitioned to the role of Commercial Manager at RES from January 2018 to May 2018, and subsequently held the position of Senior Commercial Manager from June 2018 to December 2021. Finally, John's most recent role at RES is as the Commercial Director for the UK & Ireland, which they started in January 2022. Further details about this role were not provided.

John Prendergast obtained their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from University College Dublin from the year 1999 until 2003. Subsequently, they pursued a PhD in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, which they completed from 2003 to 2007.
