Lee Cameron

Principal Solar Strategy Analyst at Renewable Energy Systems

Lee Cameron has a diverse work experience in both the industry and academia. Starting in 2013, Lee worked at RES as a Technical Analyst until 2017, where they gained expertise in data analysis and energy storage. From 2017 to 2019, Lee held the position of Senior Data Scientist & Energy Storage Specialist at RES. In 2019, Lee transitioned to the role of Data Science Manager at RES, overseeing data-related projects until May 2022. Lee then advanced to the position of Senior Product Manager at RES in April 2022.

Prior to working at RES, Lee pursued a PhD at Queen's University Belfast from 2009 to 2013. During their time as a PhD candidate, Lee developed an efficient and adaptive multi-objective optimization framework for aerofoil optimization. They also performed analysis on wind tunnel data to understand the effects of manufacturing imperfections on laminar-to-turbulent transition in boundary layer flows. As a research assistant in 2011 and 2012, Lee developed a tracking algorithm for the growth of vortices in the boundary layer and conducted a systematic study on the impact of imperfection amplitude and location.

Lee Cameron received a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Aerospace Engineering from Queen's University, Belfast, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Lee then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Queen's University Belfast from 2009 to 2013.
