Lucy Zhang is a Professor and Associate Dean of Research Innovations, Partnerships, and Workforce Development at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute since July 2006. From August 2021 to July 2024, Lucy served as Program Director for the National Science Foundation. Prior to this, Lucy held the position of Assistant Professor at Tulane University from August 2003 to June 2006, which was concluded due to the permanent shutdown of the School of Engineering following Hurricane Katrina. Lucy holds a Ph.D. and MS in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Binghamton University. Education at Evanston Township High School occurred from 1990 to 1993.
