Jimmy Fourtounis has extensive work experience in the field of biology and pharmaceutical research. Jimmy started their career at Merck in 2000 as a Research Scientist, where they worked for over a decade. In 2011, they joined the Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie (IRIC) as an Agent de Recherche for a year. Jimmy then moved to Vertex Pharmaceuticals in 2012 and worked as a Research Scientist I until 2014, after which they were promoted to Research Scientist II and worked until 2017.
From 2017 onwards, Jimmy worked at Repare Therapeutics, where they held several roles. Jimmy started as a Senior Scientist II/Biology Project Lead, responsible for developing cell-based and biochemical assays for screening and MOA studies for an investigational cancer target. In 2020, they were promoted to Senior Research Investigator and held this role until 2022. Currently, Jimmy is an Associate Director Discovery Biology at Repare Therapeutics, a position they have held since March 2022.
Jimmy Fourtounis began their education in 1990 at Argyle Academy, where they completed an enriched high school immersion program with honours. Jimmy then attended Marianopolis College from 1992 to 1994, earning a D.E.C. in Health Sciences. In 1994, Jimmy enrolled at McGill University and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Animal Physiology in 1998. Jimmy continued their studies at McGill, obtaining a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Molecular Biology in 2000.
