Kiran Jain

Kiran Jain has extensive experience in the public and private sectors. Kiran began their career in 2004 as the Founding Attorney/Advisor at Kiva, a world-renowned internet lending marketplace for the poor. In 2007, they joined the City of Oakland as Senior Deputy City Attorney. In 2016, they were appointed as the Chief Resilience Officer and Deputy City Administrator. In 2017, they became the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at Neighborly (now Underline). In 2019, they were a Lecturer at the Goldman School of Public Policy and a Strategic Advisor at the California Institute for Energy and Environment. Kiran also co-founded the Oakland Fund for Public Innovation and served as its Chief Executive Officer, and was the General Counsel/Advisor for curbFlow. Currently, they are the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Replica, a privacy-first data platform for the built environment, and a Partner at Third Sphere, an investment firm focused on climate solutions.

Kiran Jain has completed a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University, and an A.B. in Economics and Environmental Science (cum laude) from Barnard College.
