Avelyn Austin

Avelyn Austin has a long and varied work experience. Avelyn began their career in 2008 as a Junior Account Manager at Marketing Mojo, a digital marketing agency. Avelyn then moved up to Senior Account Manager and Search Marketing Sales Consultant. In 2012, they joined Ketchum as a Digital Strategy Freelancer and then moved up to Vice President of Digital Strategy & Paid Media, Managing Account Supervisor, and Account Supervisor of Strategic Insight & New Media Development. In 2013, they joined the Washington Women in Public Relations as a Past President, President, Vice President, and Woman of the Year Co-Chair on the Board of Directors. In 2018, they returned to Washington Women in Public Relations as Sponsorship Chair and Treasurer of the Board of Directors. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Chief as the Chief Member.

Avelyn Austin began their education in 2000 at Cave Spring High School and graduated in 2003. Avelyn then attended James Madison University, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management in 2007. During their time at JMU, Avelyn also attended the University of Antwerp in 2005 for a European Business Concentration. In 2008, they obtained a Google AdWords Certified Individual certification, and in 2011 they obtained a Microsoft Advertising Accredited Professional certification.
