Jan Kostal

Jan Kostal is an accomplished scientist and manager with extensive experience in protein development and cell culture. Since December 2004, Jan has been a key contributor at Bio-Techne / R & D Systems, focusing on mammalian cell lines within the Protein business unit and Cell Culture Development. Prior experience includes a role as a scientist at Zymo Research Corp, where Jan specialized in new product development related to growth media, protein expression, and purification. Jan's academic background includes postdoctoral research at the University of California, Riverside, investigating protein engineering, and at the University of Illinois at Chicago, studying pathogenic factors from Pseudomonas and Leishmania. Jan holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, earned between 1993 and 1998.
