David Detlefsen

David Detlefsen has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. In 2020, they joined Aprilaire as the Senior Manager of Smart and Connected Devices. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2020, they worked at Deloitte Digital as an Internet of Things (IoT) Implementation Manager. From 2012 to 2020, they served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (LFGSM), teaching a course on Innovation and Risk. From 2016 to 2017, they were a Sr. Product Manager & Product Owner at Deloitte, leading a team to develop and deliver tax applications and services. In 2016, they also worked at The Marmon Group as the Lead Software Architect and Technical Product Manager for an IoT product. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Senior Product Manager at Zebra Technologies, focusing on developing market-driven technical requirements for an Enterprise-focused IoT software platform. From 2007 to 2013, they worked at WMS Gaming as the Principle Product Strategist, leading cross-functional product development teams and spearheading innovation training. David founded their own technology development company, Detlefsen Design & Consulting, in 2006 and served as its Founder/President until 2012. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2007, they were a Development Manager at Sigenics Inc., supervising and contributing to the creation of custom software, firmware, and hardware. In 2002, they were a Hardware Engineer at the Pritzker Institute of Biomedical Engineering, managing the development of a micro-electrode stimulator system.

David Detlefsen has a diverse education history. In 1995, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering (EE/CS) from Illinois Institute of Technology. David continued their education at the same institute and obtained a Master of Science degree in Microelectronics Engineering from 1999 to 2001.

In 2005 to 2006, David pursued a Master's of Business Administration degree at the Illinois Institute of Technology, focusing on Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and New Value Creation.

Additionally, David has pursued various certifications to enhance their skills. In 2019, they obtained the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). In 2017, they completed the "Sramana Mitra on Bootstrapping" course offered by LinkedIn. Furthermore, in 2015, they completed the "iOS 9, Swift 2, and Xcode 7 - Apple Mobile App Development" course offered by Udemy. David also obtained the "Gamification" certification from Coursera in 2014.

Recently, in 2022, David obtained two certifications from The Interaction Design Foundation - "UI Design Patterns for Successful Software" and "Certified Member (CM)". It is worth noting that David has also obtained the "Certified Scrum Product Owner" certification, although the specific timeframe for this certification is unknown.
