Lead Community Experience at ResearchGate

Amanda King has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Amanda started their career as a Homewares Team Leader at Urban Outfitters in 2007. After that, Amanda worked as a Library Headquarters Intern at Clare County Library, where they performed various duties including reference and circulation desk responsibilities.

In 2012, Amanda became an English teacher for the GEPIK program in Korea, where they prepared and delivered engaging lessons to students. Following that, they joined Public Outreach Fundraising in 2013 as a Fundraising Coach, where they fundraised for nonprofit organizations and designed training packages for new staff.

Amanda gained further experience in education at University College Dublin (UCD) in 2015 as a Lecturer in the Organisation and Retrieval of Information module. In this role, they reorganized the curriculum and delivered lectures on topics such as digitization and preservation.

Since 2016, Amanda has been working at ResearchGate, initially starting as a Scientific Recruitment specialist and then transitioning to roles in Scientific Advertising and Data Quality & Community Support. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Community Experience, although specific end dates for their roles at ResearchGate have not been provided.

Amanda King received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology, Media & Communications Studies from Mary Immaculate College, Ireland in 2007. Amanda also completed an exchange semester at Loyola University Chicago in 2005-2006, specializing in Advertising, Mass Media and Popular Culture, and Film Photography. In 2010-2011, they pursued a Master of Library & Information Science (M.L.I.S.) degree in Library and Information Studies from University College Dublin. Additionally, Amanda obtained a TESOL 140-hour certification from i-toi and TEFL Express in 2012.
