John Owens

John Owens is an Associate Professor of Electronic Media at the University of Cincinnati, where responsibilities include advising BearCast, a student-run webcast radio station, and leading the Electronic Media Division, which serves over 200 students in multi-platform media storytelling and production. Additionally, John Owens serves on the Advisory Board of Transform, Inc., focusing on media content and talent decisions informed by performance data, and contributes as a Board Member at Cincinnati Public Radio, which operates multiple popular stations with a weekly reach of over 250,000 listeners. Previously, John Owens held the position of Assistant Professor at Western Carolina University and holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from The University of Alabama.
