Byung-Kwon Choi, PhD has worked in various positions in the field of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals since 1993. From 1993-1995, they worked as a Senior Researcher at Central R & D center for Samil Pharmaceutical Co., LTD. Byung-Kwon then worked as a Visiting Scientist at the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) from 1993-1998, where they participated in the development of humanizing antibody for lowering LDL cholesterol in the patients have defective LDL receptor, and cloned heavy and light chain cDNAs from hybridoma cells producing monoclonal antibodies (MAb) against human Apo B-100 and MAbs against human Apo-AI. From 1998-2003, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Yonsei University, where they performed a proteomic study on the sterol metabolism in C. elegans. From 2003-2015, they worked as a Staff Scientist at Baylor College of Medicine, where they were involved in the KnIT (Knowledge Integration Toolkit) project, validation of new p53 kinase, NEK2 phosphorylates serine 315 on p53, in vitro validation of cancer drivers and essential genes, and in vitro validation of sensitivity of drugs. From 2015-2019, they worked as both a Senior Scientist and a Principal Scientist at Resonant Therapeutics.

Byung-Kwon Choi, PhD obtained their Ph.D in Biochemistry from Yonsei University between 1999 and 2003. Prior to this, they obtained their Master in Biochemistry from Hanyang University between 1991 and 1993.
