Lawrence Linden

Larry Linden is the Founder of the Linden Trust for Conservation (LTC). Since 2006, LTC has built and supported coalitions for the application of the tools of finance and markets to the problems of biodiversity conservation and climate change.

Most recently he has focused the politics and policies needed to solve the climate change problem, including a tax on carbon dioxide emissions, and the advancement of technology for the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Larry is a former General Partner and Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, from which he retired in 2008. Before joining Goldman Sachs in 1992, Mr. Linden was a Partner at McKinsey & Co., and served in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and the U. S. Air Force.

He is a member and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and is Chair Emeritus of the board of Resources for the Future (RFF). In the business world, he has served on the Board of Directors of TIAA, as Senior Advisor to the Redstone Strategy Group, and as a member of the Strategic Advisory Council of New World Capital Group. He has lectured on environmental finance at Yale, Columbia, Princeton, MIT, RFF, and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. Linden holds a PhD from MIT and a BSE from Princeton.
