Salil Maharjan

Salil Maharjan has a diverse range of work experience in various industries.

Starting in 2016, Salil worked as a Summer Student at NASA, where they participated in the Kennedy Space Center summer program. They were involved in building a Lego prototype of a Mars Rover and programming it to detect and avoid obstacles.

In 2017, Salil served as a Student Associate at the Institutional Advancement office in Ramapo College, where they were part of the campus outreach program and helped raise funds for the Annual Fund Day. They contacted students, parents, and alumni to provide information about the event and accept donations.

From 2018 to 2019, Salil held multiple roles at Ramapo College, including Student Research Assistant, Student Assistant in the Athletics department, and Office of Specialized Services Scribe. They also worked as a Tutor for the OSS Office, assisting with computer science tutoring. During this time, Salil gained experience in research, fitness center operations, and student support services.

In 2018, Salil worked as a Data Science Intern at Deerwalk Inc, where they learned skills in Django, Restful API, machine learning tools, and natural language processing.

Starting in 2017 until 2022, Salil worked as the Lead Full Stack Developer at RocklandWeb - Design Your Future, where they developed websites using the LAMP stack and WordPress. They provided e-commerce solutions and enhanced the online presence of businesses.

Salil joined RetailStat in 2022, first as a Data Science Intern, where they worked on projects related to improving the company's data pipeline using various technologies such as Amazon's EMR, S3, Databricks, and PySpark. They also worked with different databases for data analysis projects. Salil then transitioned to a Data Scientist role at the same company.

In 2023, Salil joined Weill Cornell Medicine as a Staff Associate in Computational Biomedicine at Dr. Iman Hajirasouliha's lab. Their work involves data science and deep learning engineering in the field of computational biomedicine.

Salil Maharjan began their education in 2014 at Ullens School, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate Diploma in Mathematics and Physics. Salil completed this program in 2016.

In 2017, they enrolled at Ramapo College of New Jersey and earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 2020. During their time at Ramapo College, they briefly studied at The American College of Greece in 2019 as part of their Computer Science program.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Salil Maharjan pursued a Master's degree in Data Science at Stevens Institute of Technology, starting in 2021 and expected to complete in 2022.

Additionally, Salil Maharjan obtained several certifications throughout their education and career. These include certifications in Machine Learning Pipelines with Azure ML Studio, Python and Statistics for Financial Analysis, Java Development Masterclass, STAMP French Language Placement (Upper-Intermediate B2), French language (Lower-Intermediate B1), Machine Learning (Python and R) in Data Science, and a Kukkiwon Poom 1 Certificate.
