Troels Marstrand

Troels Marstrand has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific and data science fields. In 2006, they completed their PhD at the University of Copenhagen, titled "Quantitative Analysis of Promoter Architecture and Gene Regulation". From 2007-2009, they were a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Washington. From 2009-2011, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University. From 2011-2016, they worked at LEO Pharma A/S, first as Head of Science Insight & Data Integration, then as Head of Bioinformatics, Systems & Data Management, and finally as a Research Scientist, Bioinformatician. In 2016, they became the Chief Data Scientist and Founding Partner at Wind Power LAB. In 2018, they took on the role of Chief Data Scientist at LEO Innovation Lab, where they worked across Global R&D to establish proof of concepts on how advanced analytics and data-driven approaches act as enablers for faster drug discovery, new disease insights, and precision medicine in dermatology. In 2019, they became Chief Data Scientist, Digitalising R&D at LEO Pharma. Most recently, in 2020, they founded Revea and is currently serving as its CTO.

Troels Marstrand received their PhD in Bioinformatics from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen between 2006 and 2009. Prior to that, they obtained an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen between 2002 and 2005. Troels also earned a B.Sc. in Biology from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen between 1999 and 2002. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Coursera, Google, and MIT Professional Education, including Data Engineering on Google Cloud Platform Specialization (2017), Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect (2019), Advances In Imaging (2017), The Innovation Process: Invention in the Context of Innovation (2017), and Data Science: Data to Insights (2016).
